It was time to leave Tamatave behind with our guide and driver from Mada Tours. The journey ahead was to be long, so we headed out early.
| Sun rising in horizon |
We loaded the car and hit the road.
After a while of driving we stopped for breakfast. In Malagasy, hotely means either a hotel or a roadside restaurant.
| Coffee, rice and fried egg cost less than 3 euros for three |
| Hibiscus |
And on the road again, long way to go. Some pics next.
| Brickaville. Oir guide told that during cyclone every few years all the apartments at the river get washed away, people still come and build them again |
| Old, destroyed bridge of brickaville |
| Jackfruit |
| Still long road ahead |
| Truck full of bananas ended up being another victim of Madagascar roads |
Then it was time to make a pitstop and enjoy some lunch, at the same good restaurant (La Terraise Marie Lodge) again.
| Poinsettia |
| Romazava |
And then again back on the road. Sadly a short while later the breaks from car began making some noise, so we had to do a pitstop to have them fixed. So i took few pics of the local art on the walls.
And after we hit the road, traffi was getting bit heavier and a lot of trucks were driving. Really my new heroes are the big truck drivers who drive on these roads day after day. But oh the views.... they truly take your breath away!

| Zebus at work |
| Local butcher, no piece of meat goes to waste. |
Then it was one of the moments I had waited most.... visiting chameleons!!
The name of the place is Réserve Peyrieras Madagascar Exotic and they are specialized preserving, breeding and releasing reptiles. These reptiles are under constant threat as theirnliving space is destroyed and illegal exportation.
Below just few pics, more are in the FB album.
We were also delighted to see feeding of the chameleons!
Next we did see snakes, geckos and the tiniest of all chameleons. Another great experience.
| It is not a stick, it is a snake |
| Tiny tiny chameleon |
| There is a flat tailed gecko |
Was sad to leave this amazing place behind, but the road to Tana was still long and darkness was getting close.
Finally we arrived at the hotel (Hotel Cristal Madagascar) and well deserved rest.
